How the Mouse Sensitivity Converter Works

Converts an in-game sensitivity setting from one game to another while keeping the same physical mouse movement for a full 360° turn — the same cm/360° matching approach used by competitive players switching between titles. Each game applies its own internal "yaw" constant (how many degrees the camera rotates per mouse count reported), so the same sensitivity number produces a different turn radius in different games; matching cm/360° instead of the raw number keeps your aim muscle memory intact.

Formula

inches/360° = 360 / (sensitivity × yaw × DPI); cm/360° = inches/360° × 2.54; new sensitivity = 360 / (new yaw × DPI × inches/360°)

Yaw is the number of degrees the in-game camera rotates per mouse count (a fixed constant baked into each game's engine). Dividing 360° by (sensitivity × yaw × DPI) gives the physical mouse-pad distance needed for one full turn; holding that distance constant and solving for sensitivity in the target game's yaw gives the equivalent setting.

Calculation Example

CS2 sensitivity 2.0 at 800 DPI: inches/360° = 360 / (2.0 × 0.022 × 800) ≈ 10.23in ≈ 25.98cm/360°. Converting to Valorant (yaw 0.07): sensitivity = 360 / (0.07 × 800 × 10.23) ≈ 0.629.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the yaw values come from?

They are widely-published, community-verified constants used across major sensitivity-matching tools and communities — not official developer specifications for every title, but stable and unchanged for years since each game's underlying engine (or its Source-engine lineage) hasn't altered its mouse-input scaling.

Why does cm/360° matter more than the raw sensitivity number?

Two games with different yaw constants need different sensitivity numbers to produce the same physical mouse-pad distance for a full turn. Matching cm/360° instead of the number keeps your muscle memory and flick-shot accuracy consistent when switching games.

Does DPI matter if I keep it the same in both games?

DPI still factors into the formula, but as long as you use the same DPI value on both sides of the conversion, only the sensitivity number changes — the tool assumes your mouse DPI setting itself is not changing.
