How the K/D Ratio Calculator Works
Calculates the standard kill/death (K/D) ratio used across competitive shooters — total kills divided by total deaths — plus your average kills per match, from your kill, death, and match totals.
Formula
K/D Ratio = Kills ÷ max(Deaths, 1); Avg Kills/Match = Kills ÷ max(Matches, 1)
Deaths and matches are floored at 1 before dividing so a 0-death or 0-match input never produces a divide-by-zero result.
Calculation Example
150 kills, 100 deaths, 20 matches: K/D = 150 / 100 = 1.50; Avg Kills/Match = 150 / 20 = 7.5.
Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a "good" K/D ratio?
It varies heavily by game and role — a 1.0 K/D means you get exactly as many kills as deaths. Competitive players in most shooters aim for 1.0+, but the exact bar depends on the game and matchmaking pool.
Why does the calculator floor deaths at 1?
Dividing by zero deaths is undefined — flooring deaths at 1 for the calculation avoids an error while still returning a usable, comparable number.
